The goal of foreclosure mediation is for homeowners to have an opportunity to discuss options as alternatives to foreclosure, to provide parties with the ability to review programs that could assist in continued payment of mortgages, to review documentation with their bank or lender, and as a last resort, to discuss opportunities and timelines for a “graceful exit” from their homes.
Provides Washington landlords with an incentive and added security to work with tenants receiving rental assistance. The program offers up to $1,000 and up to fourteen days’ rent loss to the landlord in reimbursement for some potentially required move-in upgrades, and up to $5,000 in qualifying damages caused by a tenant during tenancy.
Apartments designated for individuals who have been involved in the criminal justice system and are otherwise homeless in Whatcom County. Referrals to this program are made through the Whatcom County Coordinated Entry program managed by Opportunity Council.

Cascade Arrearage Relief and Energy Savings (CARES) can reduce Cascade Natural Gas bills based on your income and household size. To apply for relief, complete the online form or contact your local Community Action Agency for assistance.

If you own your manufactured or mobile home and live in a community that is closing in Washington State, you may be eligible for relocation assistance. Manufactured and mobile home relocation assistance is provided to eligible low-income households on a first-come, first-served basis.
A one-year extended plan for residents who have completed and graduated from the six-month New Way Home Program. The resident moves into a subsidized apartment at New Way Ministries and pays reduced rent.

A specialty team that partners closely with many community partner agencies as part of a continuum of services, engaging clients seeking housing support who are either unenrolled from a health plan or seeking enrollment. The CORS Team aims to help clients access housing resources and other necessary services. They are reliable consultants regarding mental health, case management, and other community resources to clients and other local agencies within their service area. Services in this program include Care Coordination, Housing Referral and Support, and Outreach and Engagement.

The program requires drug screening, behavior contracts and attendance of twelve step programs as well as other mandatory requirements. Contact Counseling Recovery Services operates two sober living houses: Art Bergh House for men and Helen House for women.
